Columbia University’s Fu Foundation for Engineering and Applied Science sought to enhance their programs and provide new incubation spaces for STEM research. Following a floor-by-floor assessment, the design engaged to convert an existing storage space into a fully accessible research hub.

RGA’s solution creates a flexible, light-filled “maker” laboratory that allows for collaboration, research and exploration. Simple, movable furniture emphasize the industrial nature of the work and createa platform for designing products and testing new ideas. The space drove a series of upgrades to building infrastructure to support the heightened mechanical requirements. Additional student amenities were included.
